New Year Time Capsule
Put your resolutions on a real postcard
Make this New Year one to remember. Add a photo of the year you are leaving behind, write your resolutions on the back, and we post it to your home at a future time of your choosing.
- Your own photos on the front, with the place and month as a postmark.
- Frames, fonts and photo layouts to make it yours.
- A digital vault for photos and voice recordings, opened with the card.
- Send it to next year, or as far as 10 years into the future.
- Encrypted and sealed until a future time of your choosing.
- Printed and posted to your home, anywhere in the world.
Copy your resolutions, then paste them into your postcard's message.
What the research says
A short list is easier to plan
In a 2012 study, making a plan helped people who had one goal to work on, but not people juggling six at once. The more goals, the more obstacles the planning brought to mind.

Care to prove them wrong? Keep it to a couple, as the experts suggest, or beat the odds and see all 25 through.
Start something, rather than stop something
In a year-long study of 1,066 people, 58.9% of those whose resolution was about doing something kept it, against 47.1% of those trying to stop something.

Harder does not mean impossible. We believe in you.
More people keep them than you think
A year after making them, 55% of the people in that same study said they had kept their resolution going.

More than half made it. Which half you land in is up to you.
How to write them
Start with a few
Begin with the one or two that matter most. You can always add more.
Write what you will do
"Cook at home four nights a week" is easier to keep than "Stop ordering takeaway".
Write it in your own words
Say it the way you would say it to a friend. It is a note to you, not a contract.
Add one just for fun
A sunrise, a concert, a trip. Not every promise has to be hard work.
How it works
Step 1
Write them down
Write them in your own words. Stuck? Tap an idea to start.
Step 2
Choose when
The end of March, June or December, whichever suits you best.
Step 3
Open them again
That month we email you a link to your resolutions, sealed until then.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Writing your resolutions and getting them back by email costs nothing. If you would like them on a printed postcard as well, the postcard designer can do that too.
When will my resolutions come back to me?
At the end of March, the end of June or the end of December: you choose. On the last day of that month we email you a link to open them.
If I write my resolutions at New Year, when do they come back?
Written over New Year, March brings them back three months in, June halfway through the year, and December a year on, just as the year closes.
Can I put my New Year's resolutions on a time capsule postcard?
Yes, and it makes a lovely New Year time capsule, a tradition worth starting. Copy your resolutions from this page, then design a postcard with a photo of the year behind you and paste them in as your message. We print it and post it to your home at a future time of your choosing.
Can anyone read my resolutions before then?
No one can peek. Your resolutions are encrypted before they are stored, and they stay sealed until they come back to you.
Why do I need to confirm my email?
So your resolutions can find you. We send a confirmation right after you send them, with reminders on day 3 and day 14, and we only send them back to an address that was confirmed.
